A First in Team History: Wildcats are 6-0!

Wide Receiver Dylan Walck caught two touchdowns from Quarterback Matt Valanda in a 41-14 thrashing of the Honesdale Hornets.  The Wildcats move to 6-0 for the first time in team history. Walck finished with 6 catches for 151 yards and in the process reached 67 career catches breaking the school record held by Kyle Haines.  In addition to his 2 touchdown passes, Valanda rushed for two scores as part of 213 passing yards as well as 16 rushing yards.

Running Back Danny Boots had an electric 46 yard touchdown run while Running Back Kobe Sauter added 45 yards to aid the Wildcat attack.  Tight End Derek Mason had 2 catches for 47 yards in the contest.

Sauter led the defense with an interception return for a touchdown of 35 yards and the Wildcats forced and recovered 4 fumbles.

Western Wayne Defeats Tunkhannock 32-24

The Wildcats improved to 5-0 with a 32-24 victory over the Tunkhannock Tigers.  Running Back Danny Boots had two touchdown runs and Quarterback Matt Valanda, Fullback Ben Burkhardt, and Running Back Zane Janisewski  added one each to lead the Wildcat offense.  Valanda passed for 160 yards with Wide Receiver Dylan Walck and Tight End Derek Mason on the receiving end 3 times each for 51 and 71 yards respectively. Burkhardt led the Wilcats with 95 yards rushing while Running Back Kobe Sauter added 71 yards.

The Western Wayne defense intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble at crucial times to stop Tunkhannock's momentum to aid the victory.

Wilcats Are 4-0 After 53-0 Victory

Wide Receiver Dylan Walck set the tone for the evening with two early touchdowns in a resounding 53-0 victory over the Holy Redeemer Royals. The first a 58 yard catch and run from Quaterback Matt Valanda. The second a 80 yard interception return.  Valanda threw four touchdowns for 159 yards.  In addition to the touchdown to Dylan Walck, Valanda connected on touchdowns to Running Back Ben Burkhardt for 14 yards, Running Back Kobe Sauter for 40 yards, and Tight End Bailey Walck for 51 yards. Sauter's night included two rushing touchdowns of 3 and 27 yards.  Running Back Danny Boots added a 57 yard touchdown run.  The Offensive Line opened holes and protected Valanda to help the Wildcats to 281 total yards in the win.

The Wildcat defense held the Royals to a mere 9 rushing yards and only 146 total yards.  The defense also forced and recovered a fumble as well as intercepted two passes.

The Wildcats will travel to Tunnhannock next Friday.

Wildcats Improve to 3-0, Defeat Northwest Area 35-7

A strong running game and exceptional offensive line play led Western Wayne Football to its third win.  Running Back Kobe Sauter ran for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the attack.  Running Backs Danny Boots and Ben Burkhardt also added touchdowns while rushing for 74 and 45 yards.  The offensive line, which includes A.J. Merone, Gavin Lamberton, Billy Duda, Evan Coons, and Austin Boguski, imposed its will on the Ranger defense leading the way for 330 rushing yards. 

The Western Wayne defense held Northwest to 133 yards, recovered a fumble, and intercepted 2 passes.

Another Game, Another Shutout

After a slow start, a stout defense along with a powerful running game led the Wildcats to a 34-0 shutout of GAR. Fullback Cole Fuller scored 3 touchdowns, Quaterback Matt Valanda added 2, and Running Back Ben Burkhardt in the victory.  

The strong rushing attack was led by Running Back Kobe Sauter who finished the night with 137 yards on 24 carries. Fuller rushed for 58 yards on 8 carries with 2 touchdowns on the ground and also added another touchdown as part of 2 receptions for 25 yards.  Running Back Zane Janisewsk added 60 yards on 3 carries.

The defense held GAR to a mere 1 rushing yard as part of only 58 total yards.  The effort included a fumble recovery as well as 2 interceptions by Defensive Back Scott Smith

Wildcats Roll Chargers 35-0

Danny Boots, Cole Fuller, Kobe Sauter, and Ben Burkhardt each scored rushing touchdowns while Quarterback Matt Valanda hooked up with Wide Receiver Dylan Walck for another score to lead the Wildcats to a dominate victory over the Carbondale Area Chargers.

The offensive line paved the way to 210 rushing yards including 91 by Sauter and 47 by Fuller.  Valanda passed for 166 yards including connecting with Walck 5 times for 72 yards and Tight End Derek Mason 2 times for 40 yards.

The defense held the Chargers to 124 total yards and recovered 2 fumbles in the shutout.

Western Wayne Wildcats Varsity Football To Open Friday 8/25 vs. Carbondale

Coach Randy Wolff and the 2017 edition of Western Wayne Wildcats football team will open the season on their home field against the Carbondale Chargers.  Game Time is set for 7:00 pm.
