Western Wayne Golf Team Completes Season; Finishes 7-7-1

Our Wildcat golfers may have finished the season with a loss to Scranton Prep, but overall the team had a much improved as well as successful season. In addition to qualifying for the Lackawanna League playoffs, the Wildcats finished with a .500 record at 7-7-1.

Firmstone Qualifes for District II Championship

At Elmhurst Country Club on Tuesday, Sophomore Landon Firmstone shot a 93 at the Lackawanna League District II Golf Qualifying Tournament. Landon advances to the District II Championship that will be held at Fox Hill Country Club on October 2nd.

Western Wayne Golf Defeats Montrose; Qualifies For Playoffs

Johnny Barcarola, Robert Carey, and Jacob McCormick earned singles victories in a 5-0 win over Montrose. The team of Carey-McCormick added a better ball victory to aid the cause. With the win the Wildcats qualified for the Lackawanna League playoffs and pushed their record to 6-6-1.

Western Wayne Golf Defeats Mountain View 6.5 - 2.5

Landon Firmstone, Jacob McCormick, James Sommers, and Johnny Barcarola won singles matches in a victory over the Mountain View Eagles at Rock Creek Golf Course. Barcarola and Robert Carey along with the team of Firmstone and McCormick captured better ball wins to aid the win. The golf team's record stands at 5 wins and 5 losses.

Western Wayne Golf Defeats Forest City 9-0

The Wildcats picked up it fourth win in a match against Forest City. Jacob McCormick, Landon Firmstone, Robert Carey, Skyler Skold, and Johnny Barcarola earned singles victories in the sweep. The teams of McCormick-Firmstone, Carey-Barcarola, and Skold-James Sommers contributed with better ball victories. The Wildcats record stands at 4 wins and 3 losses.

Western Wayne Golf Defeats Elk Lake 7-2

Western Wayne Golf evened its record at 3-3 with a 7-2 win over the Elk Lake Warriors. Skyler Skold, James Sommers, Landon Firmstone, Johnny Barcarola, and Jacob McCormick captured singles victories. The team of Skold-Sommers as well as Firmstone-McCormick contributed better ball victories to lead the Wildcats.

In A Close Match, Western Wayne Golf Defeats Holy Cross 5-4

Hunter Frable, Skyler Skold, Landon Firmstone, and Jacob McCormick earned individual victories in a 5-4 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders. McCormick and Firmstone picked up a better ball victory 5 and 3 to contribute to the win.

Western Wayne Golf Defeats Old Forge 8-1

Varsity Golf to Face Scranton Prep in Opening Match

The 2017 edition of Western Wayne Varsity Golf will open its regular season on Monday August 21 against Scranton Prep. The match will begin at 12:00 pm at Red Maples Golf Course.
